Dear Union Members and Interested Readers:
In the news , some commentators claim that the current state of the economy is not as bad as the great depression. The question for them is: ‘when being slammed by a tsunami, how is one to know if as bad a
Krakatoa until its aftermath?’
It is possible that our economy will be as bad as the great depression, or worse, or not. So who is to say what risks should be taken or not to recover our economy? But while in the wake of its implosion, there are
measures which can be taken.
I write specifically about the Auto Industry, and how to keep the two publicly traded of the big Detroit 3 from folding.
Where there are problems there are opportunities. One can see how to save or even hoard their money until their job is gone, regardless of a possible federal bail out to Ford and GM; or is it a better choice for
UAW members to negotiate to buy the stock of these auto makers with a proviso that includes:
“A fraction of the share price; positions on the boards; assurance to not off shore labor; reduction of CEO pay, and removal of bonuses and parachutes; and to tool up for making the most inexpensive but safest
automobiles our nation has ever had. “
Keeping an old car running can cost more than a new one. Throwing money at an old business model speaks the same when considering what is needed for the future of automobiles. It is true that tooling for new models
can take some time, but in the long run can this save UAW jobs as opposed to taking the risk of going with the old business model that Ford and GM have ?
So who is to say what risks should be taken or not ? – It is something that you might consider , as borrowing money from the Fed, even if GM and Ford get it, just might not cut it -
Respectfully,
Orion Karl Daley

| Dear Fellow Voters:
I want to thank you for your vote. I am deeply honored that you saw me as your presidential candidate for 2008. Although not expecting, we did hear from many about their votes, which made the work over the past four years of significant measure.
I do hope that the new president elect will serve the people in rectifying much of the burden of our present day events that we all share. With the Democrats in both the executive and legislative branch, we should look for no excuses about improving our nations disposition over all. |
|
| Still, I believe that the New Deal, and the Balanced Party is a better deal for America. So I ask for your continued interest in helping to develop the party. And I will be running for 2012 !
Although promoting as much will fall mostly on deaf ears for about the next 3 to 4 months, I believe many will want to know how that ‘Hope’ can be more than a four letter word. So I believe in the later part of spring , 2009, is the best time to start reaching out to others.
In the mean time, may I ask that when feasible, for you to visit the site ( http://balancedparty.org ) often, and study the solutions proposed. I do sincerely believe that what is proposed, although not perfect, is far superior than what any other political party has to offer for solutions and representation of the people.
The Groups section as well should be in place in about a month, and will let you know when up and running. These will be communities that represent shared interests and needs for representation. We look forward to having many members join the groups over the next year.
Thanks again for your vote, I consider it an honor to be your choice.
Sincerely Yours,

Dear Mr. Brokaw:
I found your ‘Second Debate’ questions very compelling. I decided that this should be an open letter.
Given the opportunity, any 2008 Presidential Candidate, that is worth their salt, should be able to address them forth rightly. In other words, with workable solutions that have strategic vision for our nation.
I, like other US citizens, found the Democratic candidate Obama, and the Republican one, McCain, to be woefully inadequate in providing real answers to the important questions you posed.
Please find detailed answers from this Presidential Candidate as referenced links:

PDF:
http://unity2008.org/Debates/Brokaw_SecondDebateQuestionsAnsweredbyOrionKarlDaley.pdf
Sincerely, in having the time to write the answers, as a moderator, you could consider that I had an advantage over the two other candidates.
On the other hand, they have advisers. But, I also have another clear advantage. My answers are based on the book called the New Deal. As a Presidential Candidate, this is my platform and commitment to our nation. It was published in June 2007.
Like the book, the answers are written with the heart of a statesman, and the head of an engineer. Combined, this enabled addressing your debate questions competently with the passion and focus necessary for our nation
.
Although a write in candidate for 2008 for those who feel empowered, I believe what is written will meet or exceed the expectations of U.S. citizens for earning the trust necessary to lead our nation.
Respectfully yours,

| My Fellow Citizens:
I write you as Congress convenes on a momentous decision to ‘supposedly save Wall Street’.
I know and believe that you know, that like in declaring war, this decision affects each one of our lives for many years to come! – How – your taxes, that is how !
Directed by the sitting president, where differences in the Republicans and Democrats is window dressing, the decision is to have the Federal Government absorb upwards of $1 Trillion of bad debt so as to enable Wall Street to function once again.
I can only agree that it is necessary to have Wall Street function in order to retain what economy we have left in our nation. But I contend that there is a better way.
I ask, should it not be the responsibility of Wall Street to correct this major problem of $1 trillion bad debt, or is yours ?
The Government, in absorbing this debt is you absorbing it. They will try to sell it as bonds to investors with your tax dollars to pay it off.
But this will be through high risk junk bonds! This is unusual to be issued by our government. But they must assume that it is easier this way just to hand the American tax payer the bill.
This means that for an investor , such as China, Kuwait, Dubai, or Saudi Arabia to invest in these junk bonds, that they would probably expect for every dollar , to have a return of at least 3 to 4 times. After all, would you buy such bad debt with out good reason ?
This makes this not a $1 trillion, but a $4 trillion liability that each of us will shoulder. Further, to invest in such risk, a foreign investor should also expect these bonds to be callable. This means that they can be fully redeemed upon demand before their maturity.
There is no way that these junk bonds can be fully redeemed. The Fed cannot just print more money, and this can only jeopardize what economic solvency we might have some day. This solvency is what true national security is about: the health , safety and welfare of our families.
The guarantee of this debt is to be on the American tax payer: This means you! Already, our nation has the most unprecedented debt of $10 trillion that we have ever had in history; and we are already as tax payers, expected to pay this off. But now it will be $14 trillion if we let Congress have their way!
Already, over 500,000,00 homes have been lost to foreclosures, where some citizens have now learned what soup kitchens and shelters are. Since year 2,000 over 2.4 million union jobs have been lost, and there is no horizon for relief in our economy.
Yet , it is the American citizen that is expected to bear this crippling burden. It is expected that our children and then theirs are to as well. Which comes first, your family or taxes. How do you think the government will see it ?
This is not necessary, and I ask you to help me tell Congress that there is a better way! I have always contended that we are not a nation of surfs that serve modern day feudal lords, and we do not serve Wall Street!
It is capitalism that is to serve us, and not that we are to serve it. It is Wall Street that should be serving the American Citizen and not the other way.
Given guidance, Wall Street can bail it self out with out the American tax payer having to absorb the bill. They can build liquid capital, meaning true money in investments. This can be accomplished through ethical means, where there is no swindle, not a game, and not a hustle.
By the government allowing Wall Street to temporarily reinvest what they normally would pay in quarterly taxes, Wall Street in a matter of a short time can earn actual money to back what was their trillion dollars of bad paper.
If the government does so choose to sell junk bonds, it is Wall Street that can back them in a meaningful way.
I ask you to help me tell Congress. The pen is mightier than the sword, and our email and phone calls to Congress are mightier than any lobbyist. I have a letter which I sent to Congress, and I ask you to read it carefully.
You might ask, well did Congress already think of this? But consider, that you are actually promised some tax cut by a presidential candidate. Okay – then how ?
Did you also realize that the economic stimulus package just a few months ago was money borrowed from foreign lenders? It was not a tax cut that you received, but instead, another reason to tax you more later.
My letter to Congress demonstrates the means in how Wall Street, given our government’s consent can ethically bail itself out. I ask you to send this letter or one like it to Congress.
For your State, you have two Senators where you can send them such a letter by web mail. This is by you point and clicking your mouse to their specific web sites from http://senate.gov. For your community, you also have a member in the House of Representatives: http://house.gov . They too have a means to get web mail from you.
You can sit back where only a point and click is truly what is only required. But consider, how many family, friends and neighbors do you have that can do this too – and imagine if they too sent an web mail to congress telling them of the better way ?
As I send this to just 100, who also send it to another 100 people they know – then you have helped mobilize 10,000 emails to to the Senate and the House. But then just imagine if that 10,000 told another 100, there would be 1,000,000 people would be telling Congress that there is a better way.
That is what you point and click using just your index finger is worth my fellow citizens: in other words, what it is worth today.
Respectfully Yours,
Orion Karl Daley

Dear Congress People:
As an alternative to the US Government having to absorb up to $1 Trillion in questionable bad paper from Wall Street, I ask you to consider what I see as a viable alternative.
This will prevent the American Tax Payer from having to absorb this debt, and obviate the need to write callable bonds to foreign investors for it. In the mean time, it allows institutions on Wall Street a liquid path for addressing their liabilities.
Please consider the following: It is about a straw man for an investment vehicle. It is intended for any institution in question that could affect the over all fabric with its counter parties from its own exposure.
Although the US Treasury is not willing to lend a hand in such cases, I believe a workable solution can help off set liabilities to improve the bottom line of the firm, and if needed, for potential buyers .
As every transaction is taxed, netting is used as a means to average these obligations on a daily bases. This is for billions of US dollars in our banking systems.
Consider , that for a period of time, with government consent, if taxes which are to be paid quarterly to the federal and state governments, are to be invested instead in a non taxable capital markets fund that are managed by the institution. Payment into this fund is to be based on the daily netting amount.
Over time, the non taxable investment fund will build on its own due to its profits in addition to a quarterly based payment by the institution.
When the fund investment reaches 4 times is original starting value, or the average quarterly netted taxes, then 25% of this will be applied to taxes and 75% maintained in the original fund for capital market management.
At this point, those profits that are made on the fund are to remain in it, and the quarterly tax on the following quarter, for the previous one are to be applied to actual quarterly tax.
Hence, for a period of time, this is in effect, having the government making a non interest based loan for taxes owed while the institution can put the money to work.
The Treasury is not lending tax payer dollars for a bailout , but is allowing the firm latitude for building assets to balance its liabilities.
As this 75% grows it is to replenish the 25% periodically. When the 25% actually exceeds the normal quarterly tax, this overflow can be applied toward firm liabilities, and the original 25% applied toward quarterly tax.
At this point, in switching 180 degress, the 75% can then be considered an invenstment on behalf of the government which it can borrow against as is needed.
Respectfully,
Orion Karl Daley

The Constitution must be assured, as a nation without principles in not truly a nation of strength. For this assurance, I wish to share the following 5 principles that I created with you. They were crafted in December 2004 as a framework to assure our Constitution and for serving as standards for the strategic future of our nation:
|
|
 |
| Being in public domain for the past few years the 5 principles might sound familiar. They have been included as catch phrases in various politicians’ speeches and used as sound bites on the house floor. But they were not created just for this. They are meant as a way of life for our nation. This is described herein.
These five principles are based on the lessons afforded by three great leaders: John Fitzgerld Kennedy sought to have transparent and accountable government; Franklin Delano Roosevelt sought to provide the means to achieve quality of life for every citizen; but then let us not forget George Washington’s words: “Let us raise a standard that the wise and honest can repair”.
Being the underpinnings of The New Deal, the principles are intended for managing the United States of America. In adherence, they can efficiently and effectively empower the framework of our United States Constitution and its Bill of Rights
Like the Constitution itself, when exercised, the principles also provide the gravity needed to unite peoples of different political parties and faiths.
“But every difference of opinion is not a difference of principle” – Thomas Jefferson
Thanks to Amendment I in the Bill of Rights, we are the most diverse nation. As a framework, the principles provide a common ground: the reliance on government for its top down accountability in doing the work of and for the people; the regard for the unquestionable balanced rights of the people, a solvent and manageable economic environment that serves the people, and foreign policy that reflects these as standards in how we regard and set our expectations of others.
With these principles as guidelines, we can assure the framework of the U.S. Constitution, and its Bill of Rights; and have Government for the people; a fair tax that is constitutional; fund needed programs like Education and Health Care and not at tax payer costs. We can assure our National Security by having economic solvency, while conducting foreign policy that we as Americans can stand behind.
In this manner, every US citizen in their own right becomes empowered to participate in our nations leadership. That’s when you can really turn a page for change ! I refer you also to The New Deal for more detailed plans for the strategic future of our nation. |

Dear Community Leaders:
As a Presidential Candidate for Election 2008, I am reaching out for community leaders across our nation to share this important message.
Most Americans have been raised with a consciousness of what makes us very special. We want to pride ourselves as being the kindest nation. Our Statue of Liberty has written on its tablet: “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” by Emma Lazarus
As Americans we are also accustomed to a very most powerful and undauntable pride. This is for good reason. Americans no matter what race, creed, color, religion, or followings and beliefs, are for the most part, decent, fair and moral minded people.
As being the nation that represents the most diversity of cultures, can make our country quite strong in standing united. The common ground I see in our strength is when diversity is in balance.
Amendment I of the Constitution says that we can all be different. This Dignity afforded in Amendment I, we as Americans are expected to practice. This can make the United States strong and also admired by others across the globe. This in itself sets a precedent of what the United States at its core is really about.
The right of Free Expression in ‘Amendment I’ means that there is no one religion or belief that is recognized over another and that all should be respected. But this can only be achieved through the practice of our mutual respect. Each and every one of us comes from immigrants who settled in the United States. Each brings their heritage with them. It is a matter of mutual respect for our nation to remain rich through its cultures.
For those who have not learned or who are new to this mutual respect, it is for the rest of us to teach through its practice and expectation. This is how many bridges in our communities can be built where the tolerance in the acceptance of others who do not necessarily look like us is vitally important for our nation’s strength.
Although in the United States one can become quite rich, our self esteem must be based on principles first. I would rather share my time with one who is the poorest financially, but has self respect over one who is quite rich, but has not a sense of respect.
Today, what can tear our communities apart is our economy. Immigration has become an issue used for this. It has been used divisively for political gain by blaming unregistered immigrants as the cause of taking away jobs. There are an estimated minimum of 12 million people that are currently in our country who are not registered. They have been termed by politicians and the media as ‘Illegal’. When considering what is really illegal, let us consider the speed we drive our cars. It is typically about 10 miles per hour over what ever speed limit is set by law. Most feel that our speed limit signs are out of date. Further, we as the majority of American drivers are indifferent to law if we can get around it; that is regardless if out of date or not. The consequences are more fatal accidents, and far more fuel consumption.
Yet we speak of independence from foreign oil. The point: we must be honest enough to understand and accept our own contradictions. We must have speed limit signs that work and then to use them wisely. This is before being able to understand the smoke and mirrors that are handed to us about immigration.
What is not accounted for is that these 12 million unregistered immigrants, who we do call illegal, the IRS knows as being legal tax payers. They pay about $50 Billion a year in income tax. Over all, they bring about $200 Billion into our economy that does circulate into the hands of U.S. Citizens.
Compare this to the $800 Billion that leaves our country by visitors who work here and ship their money out of our county to their home. It is true that they pay taxes too, but what they keep is not spent or can circulate in the economy of our communities. So immigrants who do not really have a voice can be used as an escape goat to allow this cheap visitor labor force.
To be a legal American can cost upwards of $25,000 dollars. This should not be the case. Like our speed limit signs, it is a matter of revising some very outdated laws in the 1986 Immigration Reform Act. Simply, if you are working in this country, and your purpose is to become an American, I believe that you should be able to.
As a working tax payer, who intends to be a citizen, one is contributing to the economy of this nation. That is what is most important. One can also be part of a family, where a member is a working tax payer. This must be considered as opposed to just punitive measures for people who want to become Americans.
I have proposed revisions to the immigration laws. These revisions many view as fair and just. This is detailed in a document that is online at http://unity2008.org/Immigration.html. As the current state of our economy cannot afford people to arrive on our shores that are jobless, this must be considered. But of more importance, our economy cannot afford to lose $800 billion a year from visitor labor and off shoring of our jobs. I consider them for the most part also decent people, where many I do know, but it’s a matter of what we can currently afford and not afford for our burdened economy.
In recovering our economy through fair trade, and investing in our nation (as described here: http://unity2008.org/book/RestreOurNation.pdf ) , we can then galvanize our communities. This is in terms of education, language development, job training, and more viable paths towards citizenship.
I ask you to take an active interest in what is noted in the above. I am looking for help from community leaders so to have the policies I propose to be realized for our nation. This can only be accomplished where the voice of our nation can be heard on Nov. 4, 2008 if it is to speak for these policies.
Sincerely,
Orion Karl Daley

From the Promise:
The Ferries Doctrine The Ferries Doctrine which prohibits families of service members suing the military for death or further injury resulting from treatment received by the military is to be brought to Congress to be revised. We cannot ask our solders to serve the nation, and yet ignore incompetent care for their health.
Veterans Services will be further augmented in scope for the dignity and benefits of our veterans. This is to include but not be limited to the following: Medical benefits, Financial Assistance, Veteran Family Assistance, and vocational training and provide a support net into State/Community level programs.
Our Veterans are hailed as heroes when they march in Uniform, but when they are fortunate enough to return, in many ways they may still be where we sent them. Wounds can be physical in the loss of parts of them, as well as parts of their spirit can be shattered. When you provide vocational technology training assistance it is simply one less hill for them to climb.
o Veterans Hospitals are to be further funded to adequately provide assistance in case load. Veterans Hospitals will not be short on supplies nor required staff to serve our Veterans.
o Veteran Hospital workers are to be rated by the patients. If the Vets believe that the worker serves them , then they are welcomed to retain their jobs. If the ratings are not acceptable, the worker is to be replaced with one who will care about the vets. It is more than a job of employment in taking care of the vets, it is to be considered an honor.
o Return to Duty is to be by choice by the Vet when and if the government determines that the Vet is fit for duty. It has been a volunteer military force, and should remain that way.
o Vets will not have to wait until sometime in the future for assistance but will get the assistance programs that they need.
o There will be NO deductibles for Vets of any category. Medical, Psychological, and Sociological Assistance will be readily available.
o There are to be no Injury Ratings, as injury is injury, and this is not about car insurance, but about American people. Disabled Vets are not to be covered as some form of property, but in how they are to recover and get back to life as Americans.

Dear American Union Members:
I am the Presidential Candidate that has a progressive vision for service and labor unions.
Many unions are opting to endorse either Clinton or Obama. But what do either of these candidates actually mean by saying they support unions ?
Is Clinton or Obama willing to have the government fund long term strike loans, or provide grants for union startups? Do they even suggest a union like the UAW get shareholder votes in corporations like GM to prevent offshoring ?
For that matter, just how do they propose to return industry and jobs back to our shores; or even fund the needs of our community’s First Responders ?
Do they even suggest how to avoid union busting?. Further, does either candidate think that a running mate should come from a union background ?
Has either Clinton or Obama spoken about standing up for your Constitutional Rights that were shelved on July 17th , 2007 ?
In contrast, I intend to empower unions as part of the vital balance of our economy, and believe this is key to the economic solvency of our nation.
This is described more in detail in the document ‘Restore Our Nation’ that is obtainable at http://unity2008.org/book/RestoreOurNation.pdf
In New York, I’m reaching out for Union Help for Election 2008. This is in four critical areas. They are:
1. To seek a Vice Presidential running mate that is of union background that can stand shoulder to shoulder with me in the leadership of our nation.
2. To obtain 31 union members who will be the required electors needed to be on the New York State ballot on November 4, 2008.
3. To obtain 15,000 union member ballot signatures in New York State.
4. To expand the process of obtaining electors and ballot signatures to unions across our nation to accomplish the above in every state.
Historically there has been the two party system where we normally choose either a Democrat or a Republican and go with the flow. Today ‘going with this flow’ could be like going over a water fall in a barrel.
I propose that the government provide grants for union formation, support in the form of loans to unions in order to aid strikes when necessary to resolve issues, help prevent union busting, further the rights of working people, and plans for assuring that first responders have what they need.
Unions have never in our history been started with a ‘Go with the Flow’ attitude, and likewise our nation’s future cannot be trusted with it either. We need to establish real standards and plans; and then chart a course to achieve them.
I am asking for you and your union to help me make the difference so America can work for us all. I bring real and responsible solutions for the present day events that burden every working and unemployed person and believe that ‘No American is to be left behind’.
Honored by your Consideration,
Orion Karl Daley
